Email Changing Again

Got an email from MTS that says they will be discontinuing their mymts service thanks to Microsoft doing so and will be replacing it with a new MTS Mail service.

I just checked with MTS chat, apparently they are keeping the MyMTS.net domain, as well as any existing @mts.net aliases, but it will no longer be managed or integrated with Microsoft services. FAQs are coming soon.

If you are concerned about email changing get a domain abc.ca for about $12CDN/year and do it through a service that let's you forward mail like baremetal.com. There are others. Then use the [email protected] and forward to ,,,,telus ,,,mts ,,, whatever your current email address is. Never have to worry about switching from mts, shaw, .....

I agree when you can get a hotmail or gmail account for free.

I moved all my accounts' email address to hotmail when I switched from Shaw to Tbaytel.

No matter what email route is free....you can bet the parties involved(google microsoft, etc.) will find a way to irritate me in the future with ads, data mining, following everything I do. That's why.
Google provided voice and then cut a bunch of voip suppliers etc. from using the service because their ads weren't in our faces.
Besides which I'm patriotic and like to have a .ca domain and email address.
Paying for the domain, not the email etc.

Also if I register with [email protected] or [email protected] and digitalhome or ms get nasty with spam that email gets sent to neverneverland from then on.

I do have half a dozen gmail accounts and google voice but that's another story.

Well something has changed. Until a couple of weeks ago it was a very rare occurrence for junk mail to show up in my Outlook. Previously I would periodically check my e-mail account via live.com, which was the backbone system to the MTS email, for valid items caught in the junk file.

Now I am getting 1 or 2 junk items a day in Outlook and live.com shows no activity whatsoever. Previously it would capture multiple junk items daily.

Guess I will call MTS and see what they have to say.

I have the same prefix on 8 different providers. I use them for different reasons, and as "backup" emails in case a provider disappears.

Mts has put out a warning that there is a phishing email going out regarding their email provider change asking for your account information.
