New TV now no Call Display or Voice Mail popups from MTS Classic

I upgraded my TV from a 22 year old CRT to a new Samsung LCD on Friday. Now I don't get any call display or MSG waiting or call log info showing.

I have MTS Classic and have to call Monday for an appointment to upgrade to Ultimate but having classic should not make any difference for that should it?

It did work up until I replaced TV's and I am waiting a call back from the MTS test desk to see if there is anything that looks funny on my account from their end.

My memory is getting kind of murky on classic, but press menu on the front of the box. Then go into TV setup, then try TV 1. See if your aspect ratio is set to 4:3 still or 16:9. How do you have it connected? Also, on your factory tv remote check the aspect/zoom setting. You may have just clipped the screen off with too much zoom.

Well it seems like MTS will be phasing out Classic TV soon anyway.

I've been thinking that for a while, and surprised it isn't already gone. I think they've stopped selling it, and are just handling existing customers.

@macman, even if the displays were being clipped off the numbers should show up in the call log and they don't.

It just says no calls but the numbers and msg waiting lites are showing up on my landline sets so we know they are working on my line.

MTS test desk tech just called and after confirming my settings are correct, thinks that the box is borked.

The tech said that they are like a telephone and the box should display the calls and put the number in the log. We agreed to close the ticket and see if the problem follows when the Ultimate box gets installed. I'll have to call Monday to set up an appointment for the upgrade.

Even with Ultimate the on-tv call display is not perfect. I would say approximately 10% of the calls get missed on the tv. It isn't that big a deal for me but occurs frequently enough that it happens at least once every couple of weeks (no display).

CoryB, I had that problem when it first came out, but it was fixed a couple of months later. It worked fine for over a year until I dropped my landline.

I have several relatives that still have MTS landlines and Ultimate TV and it seems to work reliably for them.

MTS is coming out Saturday morning to install an upgrade to Ultimate and a PVR so I guess that will tell if its the old Classic box as the MTS test desk suspected yesterday or something else.

Hey, I forget if you said so somewhere else, but did it start working again once you upgraded? I wonder if they've discontinued tv call display on classic or something. It's going to be a mad rush to get people migrated now with the CRTC ruling.

Works fine now under Ultimate.

Actually you were the tech that ended up coming out to change the box to Ultimate service as the one who had the ticket booked off sick that day.
