Wireless STB Possibly Coming?

Seems there is a possibility to run STB for ultimate tv wireless. Anyone heard if MTS is considering bringing these boxes into service?

Here's the thread in our Bell Fibe forum that discusses the receiver:

Wireless Fibe TV Receiver Launching this Sunday for $200

The wireless receiver has also been used by AT&T for quite a while.

I asked an installer about it when a relative was switching to MTS a few months ago and wanted to put a TV on the kitchen counter. He had no info on MTS using a wireless receiver. I was able to twist the installer's arm to install cat5, but it wasn't easy. I had to remove large basement ceiling tiles that were nailed in place and we routed the cable alongside the plumbing, under the base of the counter and up the wall.

I only heard it as a rumor. But I'm not an employee, so they would know before us.

I would love to have a wireless receiver as an option for installation. Like any new product, they probably wouldn't let us use many for regular installations

I really wonder how good they work (long buffer times? pixelating?)

The link I posted about Bell mentioned 4x4 MIMO which would be a pretty beefy WiFi router, likely a 802.11n product. Even still, I know how hit and miss WiFi can be for other devices so I could see it being fine when the installer is there setting it up and then the neighbour turns on a new WiFi and it starts having issues. It would still be an interesting option to be offering.
