New Wireless Plans...

... are horrible.

The value in MTS is gone, as far as wireless goes. I'll be staying on because I'm still under their old plan... but if I want to upgrade to LTE I'll have to go to Rogers or maybe even Bell (whenever either gets LTE)...

Looks like they now include the wireless access fee in the advertised monthly price and no longer advertise the bundled monthly price. Wasn't there some sort to ruling passed for cellphone companies to be more transparent with costs? Could be part of it. That would add around $8.50 to the old plans.

The Manitoba government's new cellphone law just went into effect and MTS now includes the Wireless Network Charge in the advertised price. I think it used to be $3.50, but I don't know if it was higher for really old plans.

If you look at any of the individual plans , they all say:
Quote:
Bundle Your Wireless Plan With Other MTS Services and Save up to $43.50

when bundling comes into play, no carrier in the prov even comes close.

I was going to look at other carriers seeing as my contract was up, but after bundling I saved 43.50...which in the end works out to (more or less) unlimited data plans for my wife and I for around 47 bucks a month after taxes.

The fact it's unlimited is a bonus...

Yeeeeaahhh... but...
I'm all bundled up and I can see the "$43.50" coming off my bill. The thing that sticks in my craw is the $12/month charge for Caller ID and Voicemail. That's just a glorified "System Access Fee".

I don't bother with either of those. With an iPhone I truthfully rarely use it as a phone. Waste of money when I can get email and texts.

Just my opinion anyway.
