Somebody please tell them they will be relocating all these channels to new channel numbers? Otherwise they will be as bad as Shaw and will have channels all over the place regardless of themes and packaging!

From looking at the MTS HD channel count I take it you have not seen other providers HD content?

MTS will not have the 2nd most HD channels, not even close from what I can see as on their site it only say "over 50 HD channels". I'm with Eastlink in NS and we have close to 100 HD channels atm and more being added on a monthly basis and since Halifax went pure MPEG4 we have a lot of capacity to add a couple hundred more HD channels.

Once you go Plasma you will never go back.

MTS is adding 18 HD channels, bringing the total to 74. Eastlink in Halifax lists 72 channels if you count the last few they added. Eastlink's total includes 7 French HD channels which MTS doesn't carry.

More importantly, MTS beats Shaw's 42 HD channels by a large margin.

On my guide I count 94 HD channels. The Eastlink page is not up to date listing all HD channels for each region.

Also from Eastlink's website here is what they state:
Quote:
We love being First to launch New HD channels

EastLink has launched more HD channels in 2011 than any other provider in Canada
Our strategy is simple. Add every HD channel available so that our customers experience the best possible picture quality

Once you go Plasma you will never go back.

Are you counting NHL CI or NFL Sunday Ticket in those 94?

New App Channels

75 Games for TV Variety Pack - Additional Choices
81 Tumblebooks - Additional Choices
83 Facebook - Basic
87 Yellow Pages TV - Basic
96 Interactive Demo Channel - Basic

Games for TV and Tumblebooks are listed as "Additional Choices" so they probably are also "Additional Cost".

It look like MTS will be using the Tumblebooks TV application developed by ES3, which is an animated video read-along book app for children.

Nice to have CBC Winnipeg HD, but until they get Discovery Channel HD (not the same as Discovery World HD) I'll still be getting a large chunk of my HD from alternate sources. Nice too that once my current promo is over, it'll be easier to drop a few tiers.

There is not 100% answer as a number of theme groups are changing well others are not being touched.

This is a good reminder though that the major MTS package changes are happening tomorrow.
