Weather Network HD

So what happened with channel 450 that used to say "Coming Soon" for The Weather Network in HD? On their SD feed they list channel 450 for MTS but that channel has been taken away for a while now.

That's weird, Family HD has been available for a while now, no idea why they can't get it sooner or don't have it already.

Weather Network HD is live on other providers. Saw it on Cogeco this weekend.

Is that Sportsnet or Sportsnet One you were saying is in the Sports Fans Theme? I'm interested in switching to Mts from Shaw but cannot find Sportsnet One anywhere on the Mts channel listings on the website.

@hyperpuppy, it looks like MTS hasn't updated their their theme pack listings. The news for Sportnet One is currently shown in the Features section where MTS also puts their announcements.

Thanks for the info. One more question for you. In the HD Starter pack it lists both a HBO and a Movie Central channel. Are these actually included in the starter pack or do you have to pay some further subscription fees for those 2 channels?

YOU MUST HAVE THE DIGITAL EQUIVALENT OF HD CHANNELS IN ORDER TO RECEIVE THEM IN HD, WITH THE EXCEPTION OF HD HI-FI AND HD TIMESHIFT.
In other words, you have to get the Premium Movies 7 Pak or 5 Pak (under Premium Channels) and the HD Starter to get those channels in HD.

Any guesses on when MTS gets the new TSN regional channel?

My guess is 2013-2014 season...

I guess that it will be here before the first Jets game is televised regionally. If that doesn't happen, people will go mad.

Keep in mind is that:

1. Bell (aka Expressvu) is confirmed to be carrying the Jets regional channel.
2. TSN is owned by Bell.

It might be that it is intentional kept exclusive to Bell to drive subscriptions there.

Exactly my point - it won't be MTS' fault (or Shaw's) if they don't get the TSN Jets channel for the fist season. Bell will hang onto it as long as they can...

Maybe......but it doesn't make sense to do that in Manitoba. I wouldn't think that Bell has a very high percentage of TV subscribers in Manitoba, even if people jump ship to them. I can't see a lot of advertisers wanting to spend big ad $$ when their ads are only reaching a small percentage of Manitobans.

Financially it makes no sense to retain exclusivity....Bell can't be that dumb.

Well... we'll see. My guess is that you won't see it on any other provider this season, and it will be Bell's decision.
