Hello,
I was wondering if I'm able to use my own router with Bell fibe,I heard Bell's routers are not very good and I believe they are locked down.

Have you checked with the Bell Aliant threads? There are many posts where members (like me) have been able to get rid of the Actiontec supplied by Bell. Might or might not work for you but what's the risk?

Home Theatre: Yamaha HTR-6190, Klipsch Speakers, SANYO PLV-Z4, TOSHIBA HDDVD, LG BD555C, Cerwin Vega HTS12 Sub, VIP2300, XBox 360, HTPC.

New Bell Hub 2000 are very good dual routers. A lot better than older models.

Yes, the HH2000 is better overall, but it's still not as good as having say, an Asus AC66U or greater.
They are still limited in the number of wireless streams and overall control of the router.
If you have FTTH, you can pull the entire Bell router right out of the config as well.
