Thanks Dr Dave. I'm going to try once more to get the 2262 but I doubt I'll have any success based on my last call. Looks like I'm going to have to jump ship and switch provider.

It's a shame that new subscribers are better treated than long-time loyal clients.

If you want to stay with Fibe, you should try after the 2262 recall is complete. According to this Aliant thread, Bell is replacing the 2262s with new 2262s (the current model).

Addendum to my post #9...

Relative (senior) received a paper letter outlining the need for an equipment swap. The relative wants me to do the hardware change. Relative can't find original letter, but told me the gist of it was a package would arrive with equipment and instructions.

I will report back when this process has been completed.

Update: Relative found letter, phoned Bell. Bell supposedly shipped equipment and since nothing has arrived by the due date, a tracer has been invoked.

Will report back when anything significant happens.

Equipment has arrived.

I'm nudging senior along to get things changed out as to prevent Bell from charging for "lost or unaccounted for equipment".

I expect to have this completed within the next couple of days.
