Bell Fibe - Narrow Remote

Does anyone know if the new Bell Fibe narrow remote can be programmed to control other devices such as apple TV or a Samsung DVD? I really like the remote but would like it to control other devices. If so how does it get programmed. I cannot find anything on-line.

Having problems getting my older model Harmony remote (670) to control Fibe TV. It turns on the TV and Fibe, but once on the receiver responds to some commands too many times or only occasionally. Turning off the system results in the TV going off but the Fibe receiver staying on.

I've tried adjusting the interkey delay, the power on delay and speed delay with no luck. Any suggestions?

Glass doors can be a problem as well. Does the Fibe receiver respond to commands randomly or is there a problem only with certain commands?

And here's a thread on IR interference if the above suggestions don't work. Just because one remote works under certain conditions, doesn't mean another will either...

Bug in software stops receiver from turning off right away

There seems to be a bug in the receiver software. On one of my boxes if I try to turn off the receiver shortly after I turn it on it won't go off. I need to wait about ten minutes and then it goes off.

I needed to put a small piece of paper under the front edge of my 2502 receiver to get the remotes working correctly when sitting on glass, wasn't like this until the last software update.

^^^ Depending on the shelf arrangement, another thought is to simply bring the equipment forward so there is little to no glass directly under the IR sensor...

This arrangement depends on whether you have front doors that close etc. and clearances.

All things considered, this might work as opposed to the paper...

Just as an FYI, new firmware can adjust the sensitivity of the IR "eye". It can be made more or less sensitive, sometimes causing problems for certain installations that were working fine previously.

This happened four years ago on Bell Sat, as indicated in the IR Interference thread. The solutions outlined in the IR interference thread should solve the problem.

Slim remote isn't a true universal remote. Unfortunately, it won't control your avr.

He's likely USING a form of HDMI-CEC, and not the remote control.
