Bell Portal Service is down.

After waiting more than a month for my first bill to come so I can start using the On Demand Service on the Bell Portal, I see that they've marked the Service as "Temporarily Down".

Has anyone else used this service, or has it always been down?

Me too...

Hi there,

I too experienced the same issue. I'm another newbie though, so I can't comment on if this is a chronic issue or not.

For me the on demand service (TMN for example) has never worked. I called in and was told it was not available yet for Bell Entertainment

What used to work and now is not is the web based portal where you go online to see the guide, search for programs, set recordings when you are away from your PVR etc

Yeah, it's been down for me for several weeks. I figure they were trying to fix some of the problems with it, such as the inability to index the HD channels. I haven't called to ask about it yet, though.

Update: I called them 2 days ago, and they said it was supposed to be up by yesterday morning)

It's still not up. They said they were fixing some stuff so everyone can watch in good quality.

Again, It's still not up. What the hell are we paying for?

I spoke to Bell on Friday about the portal.

They are apparently waiting on a software patch from Microsoft for the portal. According to the guy I spoke to, the portal was up for about a month late last year, but has not worked for a while due to the need for this patch.

To those who wonder what you're paying for; well, you are getting 50% off a new service that's still in beta, after all. Some hurdles are to be expected.
