while viewing the channel guide press the enter button > Settings > Customize Channels. This will allow you to remove any channel from the guide without having to use the favorites.

Just use an XBOX as an STB. I heard it works as a UPnP client.

I should add... "Without paying a monthly fee".

Sorry, I assumed you were renting your STB.

Isn't there a "digital service fee" of $5/mo if you use the XBOX?

I'd like to see Optik TV develop a system to stream audio wirelessly from your computer [either PC or Mac] to a home theatre system, similiar to Apple's Airport.

My TV and Receiver both do that, and if I get a new Blue Ray player I'm sure it will too. I don't need the PVR doing it as well...
Just get a little DLNA box like the WDTV Live or the Patriot Box office. There's probably several <$50 boxes that will work as DLNA clients.

Try Memory Express, Best Buy or Future Shop. They all carry them.

I just hope to get an upgrade sometime, or at least an indication of what the timelines will be. Mediaroom 2.0 was announced last winter at CES. What does Telus need to do to have it rolled out? What are the timelines?

The software isn't exactly ready to run off the shelf so Telus will have to customize the MR 2 s/w to work with Telus's particular implementation.

1) Better sound :

I'd like to see them improved the sound options.
I have bran new LG 42 inch HD tv. Too many both SD and HD channels (playing just threw tv speakers) The sound is too soft..
Even after playing with setting on my tv.
They need like what shaw uses. Some kinda sound compression that can increase or decrease sound as needed.
I have crank sound up so much. I end up going threw my Amp, Which not always better.

2) DD 5.1 on chan list/or info.

Display on menu guild which channels/shows are being broadcast in 5.1 Dolby digital.
Not ever HD channel is in DD 5.1. Not every HD movie is in 5.1 either.. Shaw For both there sat and cable system.
Bell has it too. Why don't Telus?

3) None of the SD are in 5.1? Channels like movie central
do broad cast some of there SD movie in 5.1 some at times.

4) A slow play back option would be nice.. But I don't think any PVR has that? Not that I'd ever seen.
But it be handy for sports or that fast action movie when you miss something. :P

Other then that. I hope they keep up good work. I love it so far

@CentaurChester

3) I don't know if Telus gets 5.1 sound on any SD channels from the source. If they do, they may choose to use stereo sound rather than take away bandwidth from the video. Almost anyone who wants 5.1 sound probably wants HD video.

4) Almost all PVRs have slow motion playback. I was really surprised that Mediaroom doesn't have this feature.
