DPP33 Switch

This switch has become a little more available recently so I thought I would include it in the Installation forums for anyone interested.

It is similar to the DPP44 switch but has 3 inputs and outputs instead of the 4 the DPP44 has. It is about half the price of a DPP44 switch so if you only need 3 outputs it may be excellent solution. Legacy receivers work fine as long as one DP compliant receiver is hooked up.

Some other things to keep in mind.

You can only use DP lnb's. It is NOT compatible with DPP lnb's.
It does not require a power inserter like the DPP44
It cannot be trunked to as it has no trunking outputs.
It can be trunked to the right of a DP34 or DPP44 switch.

Thanks for that "Q", I came across one of these only this weekend, nice switch, perfect for my installation of 3 x 9242's, customer bought it from E-Bay, around $50, so another useful addition for custom installs.

Quick question. Why is a DPP switch NOT compatible with a DPP LNB? Seems a bit funny to me.

The documenations states it is not, however documenation states the DP34 only works with DP lnb's but I have tested them with DPP twins and it works fine.

I don't have a DPP33 to test so can't comment anymore than that.

My customer had 2 of them, we only used 1, I will attempt to borrow the other and test it over the next weekend.

I just spent a few minutes looking around the internet and it looks like the Retail for a DPP33 is US$299.

I judge costs by ebay and they were selling for $50 not incl. shipping. $299 sounds way too steep. I think it is an error because most places sell the DPP44 for $199
