merve04,

splitters can only be used to feed 2 SW44's which is in the cascading S44's option.

If it did work it would only output from one satellite therefore inputting 2 lines into 1A and 1B from the same lnb would yield the same results without using the splitters at all.

If you input 2 lines from same lnb into the SW44 it will basically be the same as a SW24 switch. Two lines in, Four lines out.

Output not working on SW44, help with what it could be.

I was having an issue with the 2nd tuner on my 9200 box. After trying some things I've figured out that whatever receiver is plugged into the power inserter does not work. It will get the error code "015" and never find a signal. So, I figure it could be one of three things. Please let me know which of these three makes the most sense.

1) Something is wrong with the cable attachment of the power inserter

2) Something is wrong with the first output on the SW44 switch, the one labelled "to power inserter".

3) Is there any way that the snowstorm that has resulted in a a foot of snow on my roof has done something to my dish that is causing this? Could it be an issue with one of the four cables coming from the dish into the receiver or do all of those have to be working for any of the switch outputs to work?

All three of the other outputs from the switch work perfectly fine. Thanks in advance for any help that you can provide.

1) Yes, possible. Is it installed the correct way? It could be defective, installed incorrectly or have a power supply problem. Incorrectly attahing the power supply is an easy and common mistake. Unlikely though if other units run properly.

2) Also possible, but again unlikely.

3) Nope.

Since your other receiver(s) are working though and I assume correctly detect the SW44 switch and provide access to all channels, the most likely cause is the inserter itself and/or the cable from the inserter to the receiver.

Try:
- a different receiver connected to the power inserter feed
- swap out the inserter (borrow from a friend)
- replace the connector on the cable running from the inserter (ensure the centre core isn't too long or too short)

Depending on the number of tuners/receivers, I'm not sure that you actually need a receiver on port 1 (never tried without) but if you only need 3, then it may be worth a shot.

Ya I read somewheres that the 92xx dont like to be plugged on the output of the power inserter. Move your 92xx to port 2\3\4 and keep a legacy receiver one port 1

SW44 Problem??

I just recently lost my signal on my 9200 and 3100. I get a switch error, and have searched this forum and tried many of the suggestions with no luck. With the SW44 attached, I get zero signal strength from either sat. With the switch bypassed, and 1A and 2A connected directly to the 9200, I get full strength on both 91 and 82, but see only limited channels in the guide and cannot view any of them. When I go back and do a switch check I get the following results:

Sat1 : 91, Sat2: 82
Transponder: OK
Reception: verified
Switch: none

Is it safe to assume that it is a switch problem? Even though I still cannot view any channels.

The same thing happens on the other receiver - I can view the guide but not the channels.

Thanks in advance for any help!

Is the switch indoors or outdoors? Sounds like connector into or out of switch or the switch itself.

The switch is indoors. I'm continuing to experiment, and connected the 1A and 1B of sat 91 to the 9200 and I can get most channels other than HD. I tried connecting 2A and 2B (sat 82) to the 9200 and don't get any channels. I plan on picking up a new switch tomorrow (found one locally for $40). Hopefully this will fix the problem.

No I did not. I was under the assumption that the switch would work whether it was powered or not. Maybe I should try removing the power inverter completely to eliminate the possibility of a faulty power adapter.
