i.TV Launches Movie and TV Guide for the iPhone and iPod touch

i.TV today announced the launch of a movie and TV guide service for the iPhone and iPod touch.

Quote:
i.TV presents users with relevant and up-to-date TV and movie listings based on their current location and other customizable profile settings. The service provides rich background information for most programs, including celebrity photos, biographies, show synopses, ratings, and reviews. i.TV also gives users advanced sort options that make it easy to organize television listings according to categories such as channel, show, and genre. Additionally, customers can use built-in filtering capabilities to exclude information from their listings, such as adult content.
i.TV is a free download for the iPhone and iPod touch, available exclusively in the US and Canada from the Apple App Store.

+1 this is a great app.

I prefer TV Forcast to view upcoming shows though, as i.TV's interface is cumbersome in comparison. i.TV is great as a TV guide though.

This a good app. Picked up my tv listing properly for Burnaby, BC, but not for theatre listings. All the theatres seem to be in Puerto Rico.

I tried this last night and I'm very impressed so far. I think it'll be really handy once I enter all my favorites.

Anyone figure out how to get it to provide listings for ExpressVu...errrr, BellTV?

Here on Vancouver Island, my only options for service provider is Shaw cable or OTA.

This is a great app, and you can't beat the price.

Ironically, I paid $2 for "What's on" on the assumption that their update which is supposed to include Canadian support would be out. Almost 2 weeks later, nothing Teaches me a lesson about paying for something that isn't out yet (Iwas just trying to encourage the developer).

So, word of caution: DO NOT buy What's On until their update is out.

This program's great. I have a television hooked up to regular analogue cable in my bedroom and miss the guide I get with my cable box. Now I just fire up i.TV and can see what's on and what's coming up.

Well, what's fair is fair, and I have now deleted iTV from my iPhone. What's On version 1.5 has been released and it is much quicker to respond and a little bit more streamlined an application compared to iTV. ANd for the price, it is well worth it.

I would recommend that anyone interested in running a Guide on Touch or iPhone check it out.

I agree with PokerChip, What's On 1.5 is much faster and I think it has a cleaner interface. iTV is free though which is nice.
