MLB.TV Blacking out live Blue Jays games in 2020

I have been a subscriber for many years and have enjoyed the service and the stream quality and features. But I received this notice today about renewal:

IMPORTANT BLACKOUT UPDATE: We know that in the past you've streamed live Toronto Blue Jays games from within Canada in MLB.TV. Starting with the 2020 regular season, live Toronto Blue jays games will be blacked out on MLB.TV within Canada. Live Blue Jays games will now be available for streaming on Sportsnet NOW.

I immediately cancelled my automatic annual renewal. I guess Rogers is feeling the pain of cord-cutters and is pushing back. I still have cable TV, so I can watch on Sportsnet NOW with my Rogers ID and password. I don't watch enough games from other teams in the league to justify the cost of MLB.TV.

I'm surprised it took this long considering every other MLB team enforces a blackout in their local market.

It sucks for the diehard baseball fan as now you have to either choose to pay SN only for Jays games or double your monthly cost in order to get Jays and everything else.

@ticky : Local market is one thing but a whole country is the Jays' local market? What nonsense!

I agree with you, but blame Sportsnet for that. Just like the Raptors are blacked out across the country.
