There was two major items in January on TSN; World Juniors (in Canada) and the College Football Playoff. Both of these probably had huge ratings for TSN.

I would be interested to know what kind of numbers Premier League football is bringing in. It seems to me that the fan base for this is growing in Canada.

April and May might be iffy months for TSN without any hockey at all but if the Raptors can make a deep playoff run, that might generate big ratings for TSN.

Television rating can be interrupated in many different ways. Network will put their own spin on their rating to make them look good to the advertisers.

I am really starting to love the way TSN is leveraging its extra channels to show additional content. As an avid curling fan this will be excellent...

Yet they couldn't do that during the Tournament of Hearts? What gives?

Aside from the gender bias (or maybe the Brier really is a lot more important?), nice to see they're finally amping up their use of those channels.

They are probably just trialing it. If ratings work out then additional Scotties coverage will be coming to a TV near you. I wonder how many more ratings they will really get. I know for me I will be going out of my way to watch all of my province's gmaes.

All but one game of NCAA March Madness, including the play-in games, will be on TSN (the one missing game is on TSN GO).

CFL, TSN and RDS Extend Broadcast Agreement through to 2021

The Canadian Football League (CFL) and Bell Media’s TSN and RDS announced today they have extended their long-term, successful partnership through to 2021.

As part of the extension, TSN and RDS continue to hold exclusive media rights to all CFL games, including pre-season, regular season, playoffs, and the iconic celebration of Canadian sports that is the Grey Cup. In addition to broadcast and digital rights, the deal features exclusive radio rights to the Grey Cup for Bell Media’s Grey Cup Radio Network.

TSN and RDS’s current agreement with the CFL was scheduled to expire at the end of the 2018 season.

Full Press Release.

I think it is time for this thread to be put to rest as it was created to discuss what TSN would show in the post-NHL era.

Once the Stanley Cup Finals are over, there should be a thread on what SportsNet will be showing. Indy Car and some minor tennis tournaments.

You mean when the Memorial Cup is over. Sportsnet doesn't show the Stanley Cup. CBC does.

Yep, I meant Memorial Cup. I know the finals are on CBC for the first 4 years anyways. Still, during the summer months, Indy, some minor tennis tournaments and baseball.

Lets hope that Sportsnet gets rid of all the old hockey programming on in the afternoons once hockey season is over. I think TSN's afternoon programming is much better than Sportsnet's.
