Thumbs down Need Help Please - Cannot Read Log File

When I reboot my Windows Vista Home Preminum w/Service Pack 2 Computer, I get a Blank Blue Screen which loads for about 3 to 5 minutes then I get my Desktop.

I then decided to verify the integrity of windows vista system files by going to my command prompt then typing...

sfc /scannow

the results were...

C:\Windows\system32>sfc /scannow

Beginning system scan. This process will take some time.

Beginning verification phase of system scan.

Verification 100% complete.

Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files and successfully repaired
them. Details are included in the CBS.Log windir\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. For
example C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log

Details are included in the CBS.Log windir\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. For example

C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log

However I'm unable to view this log file, it tells me Access Denied.

You may need to be administrator to read the log files. If you are not sure how to do that boot to a live Linux CD and read the files using the live CD.

I skipped Vista, but this should work:

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/w...sked-questions#
Quote:
  1. Click the Start button.
  2. In the Search box, type command prompt.
  3. In the list of results, right-click Command Prompt, and then click Run as administrator. If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
Then:

CD \Windows\Logs\CBS
notepad CBS.log

If you get an error, let us know exactly what it says.
