West Island near Lac St Louis
I have had an antenna located in the attic for the last 30 yrs., a Radio Shack with a small 10 db Amp,that was made for travel trailers. I have received good signal for two PBS staions, Fox, ABC in the UHF bands, also receive VHF CTV, CBC, NBC, CBS I also have StarChoice. In the Montreal area of Quebec.
I purchased a Sharp 52"SE and installed it, of course I connected the OTA antenna and the TV went through the automatic channel selection. Then after this was completed I wanted to see if I missed any so, I scrolled and WOW I did not know all the US channels have added a point (.) channel, ie. channel 33 have a 33.1,33.2, 33.3 and the HD OTA is better than the StarChoice, and this includes the VHF US CBS et al. The OTA VHF 3.1, 5.1 is HD and much better than the regular VHF and much better than the Analog CBC. And the old antenna is much better for HD...Who knew!
Now I am wondering is the digital signal stronger, or just more effecient?
The good news is that I have an additional 12 channels OTA and first class HD.
And the extra cost=0$
