Sky TV in the UK sold to a Canadian Company ?

I have just been told that during a survey a Sky TV Installer told the potential Customer, to hold off signing up as they (Sky) have just been bought out by a Canadian Communications Company...

Anyone heard about this or is it yet more of this Fake News.....

Yeah, my theory is that he just did not want to do the job......lol

From what I gather, its quite an involved one so I think he just threw it back and moved on to the next easy one.

I always wonder why our protected communications companies don't expand as much as our protected banks do in other countries.

Guess the CanWest expansion scared everyone...

Just checked Wikipedia about the ownership of Sky TG24 Italian news channel, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sky_TG24 and it claims they are owned by Sky Italia, which is owned by Sky, which is owned by Comcast, which is an American internet company, not Canadian. People who do not know the difference between an American and Canadian company need to question themself.

I deal with people from all over the world, and most people just think that Canadians are just slightly different Americans. In fact, most people are shocked (Canadians and Americans) to find out I'm not American.

Lines are blurred nowadays anyways - what is a Canadian company? Would you consider Tim Hortons, Hudsons Bay, Petro-Canada, Molson, or BlackBerry as a Canadian company?

Is HBC American? It's a Canadian-based publicly-owned company traded primarily on the Toronto Stock Exchange.

A plurality (but not a majority) of those shares are owned by a US investment firm. Blurred lines for sure ...
