I hope it is for you, if not pick and pay may help......I can see some people leaving Family Channel for the new Disney Channel very easily , but some will still watch Family without Disney content I have no doubt either. It just depends on how good the programs is that they choose to replace them with.

All I know for sure is that a few Mattel shows will be thrown into the new programming.

I'll probably watch both of them if they are both available, depending on the shows, along with YTV, so 3 channels instead of 2, that might be a good thing. :-)

I honestly can't wait until this Channel launches. This is the chance for Family to compete against Disney in Canada LOL as Family makes their own shows too.Disney will most likely win with some shows in terms of viwership. It's only a matter of time before we get Disney XD and Disney Junior back in Canada and they re-brand as Family Junior and Family XTRM comically.

has long has it launch has a real new channel, not just a rebrand of one of the channel Corus already have. Specially YTV, I don't want to lose that channel.

It doesnt have to be YTV if they go that route though they have a huge selection of channels that CAN re brand as it if they so choose to do it.

Does anyone know what's going on with the transition of Disney content over to Corus? Since the press release there hasn't been much information. There is a rumor that Teletoon Retro will be the channel that gets rebranded to Disney Channel. September is very fast approaching. From a marketing standpoint, I would have thought that the schedule and program details would be released as well as provider availability.

Why Teletoon Retro? Why not another channel? Leave Teletoon Retro alone, its got The Mighty Hercules. gotta have my " Newton" "THAT'S ME THAT'S ME". "Herc Herc it's Dead-ales" "That's right you stupid Centor. And lets not forget Helena,Willamean a little Tute!! LOL

Got love those monster sounds.

And why it need to be a re-brand? Leave all channels alone and create a real NEW channel for once...

I'm I the only one getting tired of this re-branding madness that is happening in the last 2-3 years...

Also if it's Teletoon Retro that is getting re-brand like bigoranget says, then since Teletoon Retro require VIP on Rogers, That mean that I'll will not be able to get Disney Canada. Shows from Disney, Nickelodeon, YTV and DHX are pretty much the only shows I watch. And since Teletoon Retro also have a French version, does that mean that there could be a chance that there might be a French Disney Canada? Maybe not at launch, but in a extended future.

A new channel? Considering how many channels are already filler-stuffed wastes of space that hardly anyone watches? The last thing we need is even more channels.

If anything, we need less channels.

Rebranding is the only sure way to get carriage on most cable and satellite systems. It's very difficult to get carriage for new Cat B channels.

Rebranding the main Teletoon channel would definitely get the new Disney Channel onto most cable systems from day one. Existing teletoon content could go over to Cartoon Network.

Teletoon Retro would accomplish the same thing. Pretty sure it's offered on basic on many systems or on a tier that most customers have.
