Channel 224 was mentioned earlier. For Ontario that will probably be the dial position for both HD and SD. In Atlantic Canada, 224 will be SD and the HD channel will either be in the 400s or 500s. As for YTV West which currently occupies 224, either YTV West will no longer be available or YTV is moving to 222 and 223 and the Stingray Kids channel will only be available in the 700 block.

Looks like disneychannel.ca finally has confirmed providers on their site.
They are as follows:
Access
Bell Alliant
Bell
Cogeco
MTS
Eastlink
Rogers
Shaw
Shaw Direct
Telus
Videotron

Looks like they may have posted it a little too early and took it down. But thankfully, I got a screenshot.

So we now have providers! I think they are missing Sasktel who recently announced they were carrying the Channel in replacement of Cartoon Network. That is probably why it was taken down.

I expect disappointment due to it being a Corus opperated channel. 57, this may seem like an OT rant, but it goes to the heart of it: Corus is cheap & lazy in their programming/commercials, smeeearing their shows across as many channels they can. 'Just For Laughs Gags', 'AFV', 'Wipe Out' airs on CMT, YTV, ABC Spark. ABC Spark airing WNetwork's 'Your House, My Money' is ill-fitting Cancon for the above reasons. I don't trust them NOT to overlap. Also hate inaccurate scrolling closed-caption by Corus.

My main issue is whether or not there will be commercials on Disney Channel. That was something that made Family Channel great.

If their are no commercials then it will be a premium channel. I'm sure they will have commercials.

There is nothing that says they have to air commercials. The Hollywood Suite channels are regular cat B channels and they don't have commercials. I know people are probably excited to see the Disney brand in Canada but in reality this a downgrade. Family Channel aired the entire Disney Channel library commercial free, now we may be subjected to commercials under Corus.

One thing I hope Corus corrects as well is eventually give us a Disney Channel West coast feed. I will admit I liked watching Disney content on Family West when I missed it. The US has a Disney West coast feed as well. I can live with commercials.

There is a west coast feed launching as well however you may only get East or West from your service provider and not both.

^^^^ Rogers has told me there will be an On Demand Channel too. All the providers should provide a free preview.
