@goalsgo because F1R and G1 are colocated in the same orbital slot they both appear together on the lygnsat links I supplied. If you sort by frequency you will notice that the first set of transponders indicate they are North American extended ku - this corresonds to G1. As you go further done the page the tables shift to North American ku - F1R. The channel you are searching for TV5 HD will only appear once on the page and yes it is on G1

@Bayguy @frenchophile I have update the file with the additional standard def channels currently on G1, therefore unavailable if travelling south.

Remember this what the list will look like come this fall once all the conversions/transitions are done, including some G1 to Fx, and assuming Shaw doesn't make any more changes. And as k801809 said even if these Std Def channels convert to HD in 2020 they will probably be on G1.

Shaw Direct in Florida

With all the changes being made, could someone who has been in the Orlando - Tampa area of Florida recently, please let us know if you are still able to get Shaw Direct?

Leesnurg nothing is happening to the satellites that we get in the south, just that some channels are going away in SD and if the HD is on the G1 bird you will not see them in FL. But a lot of HD is on the other birds that we can still get.

I noticed several HD channels missing in the lower range:
127 HGTV
056 CW
I gave up checking, then did a refresh this morning. Still missing!

(It took two refreshes to get them back!)

odd. Shaw must still be messing with things? For a while, City Winnipeg and Montreal, and Global Montreal were available on the F's - but now seem to be gone? Guess it will be like this until the SD channels are all gone and they decided what to do with all the empty F transponders

CityTV Winnipeg and Montreal HD are both on G1 and will stay there (the SDs just dropped last week from F2) - Global Montreal though, the SD shouldn't be dropping until September 25th, and the HD will remain on F2.

Any Shaw Direct subscribers in Southeast PA? (near philly). What is your reception of the G1 satellite there?

However, for parts of yesterday and at the moment, Global Winnipeg & Montréal ARE on F2 it would seem. I guess they’re running tests.

Sorry, you're right - Global Montreal HD will move on September 23rd before the SD drops on the 25th.
