Still no target for me

If they select 500 DSR530 owners....I wonder how many 530 owners there are in total??? 501....with me being the 1 who didn't get the code?

Hopefully they won't wait too long to send it to the rest

LMAO

There are at least 502 because I don't have the BC code either and it's not showing up in my target verison.

Make that 504 no target here either-- not great at being patient when there is new code in the air. (I wanna play too...)

That sure seems like a lot. The real questions is how many are actually visible, maybe a dozen or 2 or 3?

That will enable all sorts of good things, but first you talk about it being included in this download and then you say next summer or end of the year.?????

That doesn't sound like near enough. Maybe that was Alpha testers.
A real Beta test would be 100+ I would hope.

I am sure everything will be more then happy to get this upgrade, all you need to do is wait about a week or so.
Now thats sounds like a real Star Choicer!! Hmm, SCman

Anyway, it all sounds like very positive news. I just hope everyone agrees with you. I'm sure they will. It's pretty great compared to A8, but there will always be some room for improvement. Heck, it's not even a year old yet.

ARR & SCman,

Why doesn't SC just tell us this stuff rather than all the cloak and dagger?

ExpressVu used to post on a separate channel that the receiver was updated and the highlights of the release.

Why doesn't Star Choice do the same?

Readers here want to know so why no just tell us?

For those of us who were waiting for this fix before buying a 530, how long do you expect before the new firmware works its way into new units? I'm flush with DSR500's and 505's at home. I think I'm ready for a 530 but absolutely would want the new firmware. I guess existing stock would have the old A8 but then just be updated when possible...

Agreed. Instead of sneaking in and out, dropping hints and pretending that your a customer ,why don't you use this great site as a resource. Everyone here has been incredibly patient with the 530's bugs, so why don't you just post the fixes so we can all share the information. Looking forward to the new update, thanks.

Because thats the Star Choice way. They haven't even told most of their staff that a new download was released.

It may be for legal reasons, they don't want to "officially" promise something that turns out not to work.

Hey, I don't work at Starchoice OK!
I've been in related businesses and keep 'connected'.
I have and use just about every product on the market OK.
I just happen to like *c a lot. It keeps me in touch with things back home.

What you see is what you get. If you don't like it, tough.

*c never has and probably never will have any official spokesperson on here. Maybe they should, who nows.

Be happy that it appears there are some moles that leak stuff out and more importantly "Listen" and try and make the product better.

I've heard rumours that those that have tried to leak a list have been run out of town. That really doesn't serve your purpose and thirst for info.
Like everything on the 'NET, take it with a grain of salt.

Don't complain here, complain to Starchoice, their the ones operating in secret, not those long time loyal users that are trying to help and share.

Force Factory Reset

If you force a factory default reset in the secret service menu do you get the latest code on the reboot?

You said earlier - "I accidently bumped the Jump key while surfing the grid guide and it jump a day ahead."
I'm looking at my 530 remote and can't see a "jump" key. Am I missing something?

Whoa! I guess you meant the "skip" forward key - tried it and it works beautifully, except for now there are no listings beyond 3 days...

Sorry, the button was Skip, the action was jump.

At least there is a bit more guide than Bell's 44 hours!

Maybe they will work on getting longer guide data now that there are less bugs.
Not much use if you want searchable guide or name base recording with only 3 days of data, that's for sure.
