Question about Sport blackouts

Hello everyone,

I would like to ask you the following:

Do you know how the sport blackout is distributed by zones/cities across Canada Country?

My question is: What zone/city in Canada has less sports blackout restrictions and why?

Please help me how to understand sports and events blackouts

I really appreciate your help.

Thank you very much!!

Question about Sport blackouts

I would say Northwestern Ontario and Saskatchewan. For NWO, they get the Jets, Leafs and Sens games on the regional sports channels. For Saskatchewan, they get the Jets, Oilers and Flames.

The reason is based on the teams the region supports.

Here in Belleville the three East teams all overlap for blackouts.

Leafs, Sens and the Canadiens are not blacked out here on TV, where as just a bit west the Sens are blacked out and just a bit east the Leafs are blacked out.

Unfortunately if a fan of one of these teams you won't be able to watch thier regional broadcasts on either Center Ice or on NHL gamecenter.

Ontario is the only area that does not get blacked-out when you buy the nhl package .all nhl games are shown in southern Ontario on the nhl package .

Leafs games are blacked-out where I live (Fort Erie) on Centre Ice. Should be for most of Ontario except the Ottawa region.

Buffalo Sabres games were also blacked out for a few seasons in Niagara Region - however, Bell had a special "Sabres TV" channel for Niagara where we would get the MSG feed of the games for free. We couldn't get the other team's feed for Sabres games if it was on Centre Ice.
