VOD pop up ad from SD while watching TV

I am becoming very annoyed at Shaw Direct pushing the new movie offerings on VOD with a full screen advert that pops up while I am trying to watch TV. It stays there for some time unless I hit the Exit button.

Will this be on the screen if I do a recording or will I be seeing the show I am taping?

Can I turn this off? I NEVER buy VOD and do not need these annoying intrusions.

Anyone else have this issue? I have 605s, a 600 and 630s that all do this.

I'm not sure if this would help, but have you tried going to Options > Preferences > Notifications & Alerts? You can choose to receive no notifications. Maybe this would fix your problem?
