You're right. (now where's that embarrassed emoji?)

I also thought about Ransom and Mary Kills People, but I haven't watched them so I don't know if there's anything in the production that makes them look "Canadian." I know they tick all the CRTC boxes to qualify them as CanCon, but my guess is the script doesn't reference anything Canadian.

Love it or List it started in Toronto. I believe Vancouver was added next and then the Toronto hosts moved onto make a US version.

Orphan Black hints at being in Canada, but mostly through sly dialogue like "Scarberia", which would mean nothing to a Texan. 'Private Eyes' and 'Continuum' were at least bold enough to point out they are in Toronto and Vancouver.

CanCon (Canadian Content) prime reason for being according to the public pronouncements of government and the entertainment industry is to reflect Canadian culture. I believe the prime reason is to ensure a revenue stream to the industry. Whether a show is produced in Montreal and appears to be a USA location is of no $$$ consequence to the industry. I personally don't care.

Actors' accents should be appropriate to the story line. Another off-put is seeing identifiable Canadian businesses and signage on a supposed USA location.

The story line must ring true.

Does Jeopardy count as CanCon? They have one Canadian related question per show.
