I think something is wrong with SPM1 HD , not sure it's fully HD , the codes could be wrong

Regarding NHL hockey blackout zones on Rogers Sportsnet channels: tonight, St. Louis plays Calgary from Calgary. Sportsnet West and Sportsnet Pacific are carrying the game. If I'm in Sportsnet Ontario, can I see the Pacific feed? Why is it listed on TWO networks - are people in both 'the west' and 'pacific' able to watch two zones, but nobody in the east can see either? Can Ontario viewers see both East and Ontario feeds of the same game?

@Dough boy I've noticed that about SPM1 as well. I wonder if it's because of conversion from DVB ? or maybe that is the native format? I am wondering how the signal is received by Shaw. I'm assuming via satellite at the uplink in Mississauga. Also I believe that the feed we see is slightly different from what is seen in St Pierre, with sporting events being pre-empted for alternate programming.

DVB is just how the signal is modulated. It's possible that it might just be a 480p signal that is being upcoverted to 720p or 1080i. Back in the analog days there was a noticable difference between a native signal and the one being broadcast to Canadian satellites. That's due to the differences between NTSC broadcast (North America) and SECAM which was used by France and its territories.

Shaw Direct changed Juicebox to Stingray Country yesterday (channel 375) but the guide still describes the videos as:"All Day Recess" and describes the Juicebox program. Just an observation, not a complaint.

We've escalated that to Stingray... they're required to update Gracenote with their data.

I'll have the team take a look at SPM, I know there were some difficulties at the beginning, and the feed was upgraded because SPM was changing some of their equipment out so it's possible there are some challenges right now.

So much for that grouping of Juicebox with the kids channels arguments. Ugh. Sorry, me and country.... nope. But CW is on the rise for sure...

Yeah, I know. You can't win them all! I have a few channel moves to do all at once in the coming months (the late additions of the West feeds messed up my line-up!).

Looks like we may be loosing Peachtree. Shaw Broadcast has announced they will no longer carry it as of April 30th

https://www.shawbroadcast.com/Docume.../Peachtree.pdf

Maybe it's just a negotiating tactic?
