Family Jr SD out.

Anyone else having issues receiving Family Jr in SD? I appear to be getting signal but black screen and no audio. HD is fine.

Well at least one of those things in the long run is a good thing. Can you confirm if the channel drops happened. But lets not devolve into a political discussion.

Angry mixed channels

I'm finding my channels are being switched around, like Cottage Life was 512, but now it's 174 HD.
I don't even know what HD means. Also this isn't the only channel, there is many and it seems like i must hunt for channels I'd like. It seems all screwed up for the public.

that is because most standard definition channels are being removed and only the high definition HD channels will be available by the end of the year. here is the link explaining the upcoming changes https://www.shawdirect.ca/english/su...article/11268/

What Is HD

Is your only TV related problem being the change of channel numbers?

Are you fine with your TV set and satellite receiver for HD reception and display on your TV?

Modern TV sets have a rectangular (wider than tall) screen. The old TV sets have a square screen. Modern TV sets are capable of displaying an HD (High Definition) high quality picture, much better than the old standard. The old TV standard has followed Black and White TV into obscurity.

Bell and Shaw Direct satellite service are finally moving away from the old TV standard. You may need a new satellite receiver.

A kindly Shaw Direct representative may be of assistance. They cannot sell you a new TV set, but they may be able to help you identify your options.
