I'm not a Shaw Direct subscriber, but I'm pretty sure The Comedy Network has been HD for a long time. I found an old channel list from 2017 and it was in HD.

Comedy is already in HD - it launched with Anik G1 back in 2013.

Regarding those "urgent" messages, if you are currently getting all the channels you want in Canada, there is really no reason for you to change your equipment as long as you have the 600 series of receivers.
True, except for the annoying fact that Shaw constantly contacts me to upgrade. I can accept the message being shown on the onscreen guide, sure. But to be phoned every couple of weeks? Nah. My daughter fields these calls for me in Canada, while I'm in Mexico, so I told them to bug off. They said they couldn't. Eventually, they said they'd "make a note" on my account, but couldn't promise anything.

Agree that is very annoying. I wonder what is SD concerned about if people don't change their LNB?

Administration cost? They want to simplify support and maintenance.

The only thing we're worried about is totally crashing the call centre when 65 SD channels drop in a single morning - we need to get ahead of the game as much as possible. I know the calls are annoying (and I'll see if we can create an internal Do Not Call list or something), but unfortunately you're in the minority bucket of "not wanting to upgrade". The majority of the LNBs left to upgrade need to do so to keep the same level of service they have today, and should do so.

Email reminders will begin to deploy again in June, so you'll definitely receive at least one more.

lol, brief overview? That seems quite in-depth Thanks - any big changes, or is it pretty much what was posted a couple of months ago? Two 65-channel drop days. Didn’t realize there were that many left

Well, brief in that I didn't list everything dropping, haha.

It's all what's been posted and available on SBS' website as well. There's three 60+ channel drop days, once that's done, the only SD feeds remaining only have an SD feed (and would convert to HD if/when the network launches an HD feed).
