new shaw direct receiver issues

i recently installed two shaw direct receivers, one pvr and one hd. If the receivers are not used for a week or so they will not wake up unless we power cycle them. Any ideas?

Thank you,

Save power and turn them off completely when you're not going to be using them for a week.

They may lose activation or have some channels unsubscribed if disconnected from power for a week or more. I've seen Shaw Direct receivers become unstable if they lose signal. That's one possibility.

Yes, but you can refresh/re-hit your receivers through your online account. No need to call and the process is 99.9% idiot proof.

I would think that not using the receiver for a week should be a problem, but if it is you can, as mentioned, call Shaw Direct or use the online refresh tool.
