Is Shaw Direct Ceasing South-of-Border Signals?

Today, I heard from a very reliable and close friend of mine that Shaw Direct will cease to broadcast any of its satellite coverage south of the Canadian border as of 30 June 2013. All satellite footprints will be kept within Canada (as technically possible).

She was speaking with a Shaw Direct employee and the employee was emphatic that this was going to happen.

Obviously, this washes away many of the HAFH subscribers with one fell swoop.

Has anyone else heard such a thing?

For F1R/F2 programming no. Those satellites are not changing.

A lot of new channels were added to the recently launched G1 satellite. That satellite has limited coverage south of the Canadian border.

To add to the confusion they are changing the HAFH program to a second sub, and making a concerted effort to eliminate out-of-country subs.
