DSR630 little blurry on non-HD programs

Just installed a used DSR630 on my home LCD 60" TV and the non-HD channels are hard to look at as little blurry. The HD channels are just fine but not the non-HD ones.

I had the Motorola DCX-3400 HDPVR on previously with Shaw Cable and the non-HD channels were acceptable and not hard on my eyes.

What can I do, if anything, to straighten out the appearance of the non-HD channels on the DSR630?

Have you tried to lower the aspect ratio on the TV? You do have to remember that your TV is pushing high resolution images to your eyes, and often do not take into account how small SD images are in comparison - if it's coming from an HDMI cord.

You're basically stretching pixels (say 480) to fit into your display (which is probably 1080) - so you will actually find that old 26" TVs have a better SD image than most modern HDTVs.

Try switching up your TV's aspect ratio when watching older shows - as that's about as good as it'll get.
