Could the guide be just around the corner?

Where is the first quote from?
The second quote is from a tweet put out by SD yesterday directing us to a blog entry from last June and it is only pushing the new xKu LNBF and newer 600 series receivers. There is absolutely NO mention of a new HD guide in that blog.

I think SD continues to dangle a carrot in front of your noses. I'm so glad I finally woke up after being an SD customer for 10 years and went back to Rogers this past January.

Last thing I heard from tech support is that the guide is still in the beta stage, this was a month ago. Hope it doesn't get canceled!
Also they say 'We will post it on our website'.

Just asked if it could get canceled because there is that chance with a beta product. (I've seen that happen with a few computer programs)
The response was 'It is a possibility, Rob but I really don't see it happening. I hope not anyway!'
.. and another response 'It is still being tested, but we will announce any updates on our website as they are released.'

Are there any Shaw Direct technicians or developers out there that could let us know how the progress is?

Talking Taking the HD Guide for a 'test-drive'

Check this out. Looks like they are putting together a group of customers to test drive the HD guide. May 2014 Newsletter

Thanks. I filled out the survey. Maybe I can influence the settings of the HD guide if I'm chosen.

Did you catch the part when a representative will contact you, what was it?
I wonder when we are approved how they are going to target us, account wide or just that one receiver (Unit ID)?

I filled out the survey and put my name in the hat too. It says you will be contacted within three weeks. They also have to make sure the guide works on SD TV's too so if you have (as I do) a 630 and a couple of 600's, they'll probably do it all. I'm not going to worry if I don't get picked, but it will be a nice bonus if I do

I have nothing smaller than a 42' TV and I have 4 600's.

Thanks. I too filled out the survey. I will report to everyone here on the Forum, if I am chosen.

Just FYI, you may not be allowed to post any insights or experiences on the forum. You may have to agree to a non disclosure. This happened with a previous trial of the pvr's and some members of the forum were barred.

I also signed up for the trial. We shall see how many they take, and what kind of trial it is. I have been a beta tester before, and to some degree this whole 630 has been a 3 year beta test!

There used to be a member of this forum who worked on the 530-630 transition team. Wish he was still here. I think even Hugh used to have some inside track to ShawD.

I saw in the survey that it mentioned a non-disclosure agreement may have to be signed. Should I be selected, I fully intend to sign and stand-by any NDA they wish to provide. After-all, it's their property and it's a privilege to be selected, not a right!

Thanks for the heads up. I only intended to share the info that was on the public newsletter, that was all I wished to share.

I hope they add a DLNA client to take advantage with the LAN port. Also the 'Interactive Weather' could use an upgrade. Wonder if they will use The Weather Network or continue to use AccuWeather.
Hope they change the listing 'Country 953 (CING-FM)' to the correct one '953 Fresh FM (CING-FM)'
