file format recorded with DSR 630

does anyone know how to get the files off a DSR630 external drive and manipulate them as can be done with TiVo units (.ts files)? It would be nice to archive some news items, etc, into a smaller format.

The files are encrypted and cannot be downloaded. You can record them in real time via a Hauppauge, Links in the FAQ on Recording HD and discussed in the HTPC forum.
