I have had Shawdirect for over 12 years and have never missed a bill payment. I sure would like $15 off for the next 6 months!

April increase!!!

Well as of April 1st we will be paying another $4.00 per month,! What did we do to deserve this? Me thinks it is time to check out BEV. SD has been nickl and diming me since I switched three years ago. This is BS!!!
Bell nas more HD and regardless of the promised new satellite they are going to need much better equipment to support this new venture and I am sure there will be yet another increase.
I have had it!!! I am tired of paying for programing I do not want and I am tired of paying for SD in order to get HD.

unless someone creates a "poll" thread, that lists two or three options outlining why we disconnected and signed up with a competitor, SD isn't likely to care much if we whine about it....sadly

thundercraft - I was thinking the same thing today. Def time to check out what BEV can offer. I want to pay less than what I have now and if that means cutting out some garbage, so be it! I don't have many options where i live (Vaughan) but i'm definitely going to check out what is available right now. Nuffs'n'uff!

I had a similar thing happen to me. The 1st call I made to cancel Shaw Direct they offered me a $5.00 discount. I refused. The second call I made to cancel thy offered me a $15.00 discount. I refused. We now get basic cable from Cogeco with more HD channels than the DI Lite package we had with Shaw Direct. I don't know what Cogeco package you ordered, but whatever it is, you will have more HD than with Shaw Direct.

i know FX HD is on free preview right now, but is it part of a package..
also, i am not subscribed to Nat Geo Wild HD and shows up greyed out on my guide, but the channel comes in and I can watch it... any idea on this, i have the classic guide so it's channel 253 on my guide

We had the same thing with NatGeo Wild when we had Shaw Direct. We received the channel, but it was not obvious from the guide. I'm not sure why that is.

spoke to shaw today about the price increase, asked them if I can look forward to any other price increase in the near future and they informed me this will be a yearly occurrence, which is lovely

Hate to burst your bubble but SD has raised rates yearly for every year I've been with them and that is like 8 or 9 years. Sometimes even twice a year!

More like 3 times a year lately. The latest increase for me was 10%. I know we complain every year about the over-inflation increases, but I've finally had it. I'm calling in to cancel this week. If they offer a retention deal I'll listen, but they'll have to go a long way to beat the competition's "new customer" deals.

Cool New receiver questions...any deals? Upgrades?

I keep getting calls from shaw cable to switch to them for $64 a month for up to 3 pvrs internet and phone. Tempted but I may call direct and ask them to meet or beat. I really don't know that I want phone but if this is the only way to do it maybe I will. This is non-contract and a forever price.....forever??? Not sure what I'll do.
