New Firmware Update 8.26 - See post 1.

Thank you for taking the time to email us.

We are pushing out new software this week this update to version 8.26 will take place between Tuesday Oct 16th –Friday Oct 26th.

When it comes to the improvements we have made this will include enhancements to the VOD menu, multi audio selection and PVR630 external hard drive support. The update however will not be making the USB functional at this time.

This is the email I received about the new software update.

I would guess so but only on the PVR, what im wondering is if the new HD guide + the PVR fix for the recordings not getting deleted correctly is in this release.

I had a good conversation with a CSR rep a few weeks back he said he has been trying out (testing) a external hard drive for quite some time. in regards to early post mentioning the guide, are they (Shaw D) planning on rolling out a updated on-screen guide?

At this time, I am much more interested in some bug fixes than any new major features. There are some usability features I would like but don't expect to see those.

Where's 'SD 630 Support' to break this down for us?

Probably has not been released yet. Has anyone received this new update yet? The majority of us will probably get it later next week.

I have the update on my 605- interestingly- but not the 630 -yet.

No visual differences on the 605- no HD guide

I havent yet tried if the esata port works on the 605, but I couldnt find any menu options for it.

So far. nothing to whelm me. Pretty underwhelmed actually.

I have a 1tb drive in my 630- so im not even sure iw ould use the extra capacity. But I would love it on the 605!

The OP doesn't mention the external drive working on the 605. Just the 630.

Nothing on the 630. The 605's have the update, but I'll be damned if I can figure out what's new. Looking forward to the external HD for the 630

8.26

They told me a couple of weeks ago that they were releasing an update. I was to be a patch to get the MBPS up to make HD on VOD better. Has anyone tried a speed test to see if it is better?

I just hope it deals with these undeleted deleted recordings so that the 630 doesn't require frequent PVR flushes.
