A few things come to mind,
-Can we stop calling G1 Shaw Direct's satellite, and therefore stop blaming them for any delay and expecting them to have any ability to do anything about it. This satellite is owned and will be operated by Telesat. They contracted its build, and launch. Shaw has rented capacity on it, but will be only one of many customers utilizing it. They are all affected by the delay, and probably none of them can do anything about it.
-Telesat chose ILS as its launch provider. They use the most commercially successful heavy lift launch platform ever. They know what they are doing, and I'm sure they don't need TP, but do deserve respect from any space enthusiast. They identified an issue and are fixing it. These things take time as they don't want another failed launch. There is too much money and effort at stake. Shaw can't do a thing to hurry that process up.
-Oh and SatBeams probably has no insider info. Why they all of a sudden list March 2013 as the launch date is anyone's guess, but I'd wait for more official word before grabbing your pitchforks.
Lets all hope for a speedy return to flight for Proton so Shaw Direct can then set about adding a bunch of great channels for us.
