6million, thanks for the tip on Dell, I had no idea the even sold them. I have been trying with email to get the best price on the 630 and the best SD would offer me was $299 ea. and that was with multiple emails back and forth.

I just ordered 2 630 receivers, and just like gbaudio I had no shipping charges applied.

Saved $300, $150 for each receiver, plus the HST that would have been added on.

Anyone know how much it would cost to swap a 605 for a 630?

Well, my Dad already swapped 2 600's for 2 605's, can't remember what he paid, wasn't much. Now he's realizing he wants a PVR. And I told him so.

Is the trade-in program still going?

So that's $50 off the regular price. Do they pay for shipping both ways?

They send you a receiver with no remote?

This is in addition to the $50 price break on the receiver?

New here to the forums so hello all.

I've been with SD since 01' and after much stress with the 530 I bought used I got put through to customer relations which they offered me three 600s to upgrade my 209 and two 319s as well as upgrade the 530 for a 630 for free.

Pretty good deal?

Edit: I have to return the 209 and recycle the 319 (said they are on their third home with lock up problems still)

The CSR whispered me before he put me through to customer relations to tell them Telus phoned me and offered 2 PVR rentals for 3 years with same programming for $50 a month instead of $75. He then went on to write all that down on my account. Not exactly sure why... We had a good chat for about 45 minutes without even mentioning anything about SD. Odd.

You would have to be careful with the wording as the Telus Optik system can only have one PVR though all the boxes can access the programming recorded on it.

As of Oct 9th, is anyone aware of any 505 -> 605 swap that is a better deal than $150? Looking for the upgrade so I can run the HDMI through my AVR. Thanks.

530 swap?

Hi,

Are there any current good deals on a 530 -> 630 swap?

Also 505 -> 605?

Thanks,

Bill

About 3 months ago I was able to exchange two 505's for two 605's for free. Initially they were going to offer me an exchange for $75 for each receiver but I balked at it.

I did sell my point that I have been a customer for quite a few years and have a bill close to $100 a month. They left me on hold for a while and a different csr came back and agreed to send them for free. He did comment that he saw that I was a long term customer and that I had always paid the bill on time..........probably the kind of customer they don't want jumping ship.

The 605's arrived by purolater a few days after ordering with prepaid boxes to send back the 505's. So overall happy with the service.
