NB Josh is correct. TV providers have to come to an agreement with the broadcasters. How much their channels are viewed for and what package/bundle they are included in.

Also, you do not need to be subscribed to the standard definition channels to received the HD channels in the HD Extra package.

Shaw Direct Digital Indulgence Package

Does anyone have info on the Digital Indulgence package? I did a search and looked on the SD site but found nothing.

Does it include the Spokane radio stations. The Ont Value package removed them. Specifically 835 - KZZU

Digital Indulgence package

Installer where are you getting the information on price and number of channels? I would like to check the channels to insure they include all that I'm interested in. Like scarry bob I checked shaws web site and can find no reference to such a package.

I asked Shaw Direct and they told me that there is no way to see a list of channels because it isn't an advertised package.

Can you send the channel list via a private message without breaking the rules?

Dexter on Movie Central?

Does anyone know if Movie Central is carrying the new season of Dexter starting this September? I see they are replaying last season on Sunday nights at 9 EST, starting on Sunday July 3rd on movie central 2, but can't find anything regarding the new season

Bait and switch

I am a new subscriber, and received my first bill yesterday. To my surprise I am being charged $6. per month for a warranty. The store where I purchased this stuff never mentioned that there was this extra charge. I phoned customer service to cancel this, but was informed that this is a mandatory charge. Are Shaw receivers so unreliable that it costs that much to maintain them? Does everyone have to pay this fee?

But I guess I can answer my own question because one of our receivers has never worked properly, and it took three calls to customer service to persuade Shaw to send someone to repair it.

Previously I was with Directv for seven years, and never had any equipment malfunctions.

Yes, just about everyone with 2 receivers or more has to pay this fee. Some of the higher end packages have this fee waived.

Single receiver users only have to pay $2.49/month but 2 or more receivers it's a flat $5.99/month fee.

Really it is an excellent deal with a full warranty on all your receivers and you can have up to 6 of them on one account with no more additional fees.

I believe in the US Direct TV charges $5/month for each extra receiver and Dish Network charges between $7 and $17 for each additional receiever plus a DVR charge of $6 a month.
