Its not fair that Shaw can take over Star Choice
Pretty sure that if you do just a little research you will find that Shaw has always owned Start Choice.

Just read of the new offer for new subscribers or for re-subscribers. I know the idea is to get new subscribers but why is it that loyal customers are just left to circle down the drain ?
Why do we never get any bonuses for remaing loyal over the years?

It's because statistics have shown that people don't switch often. You're actually better off to switch every 4 to 5 years to get these deals.

"No Information Available"

Anybody noticed that as we get "closer" to the firmware update, the current IUG shows more and more "No Information Available" messages when clicking on Info buttons? Very sad, very sad.

I've been noticing the damn "NO DATA" much more frequently now after switching to the Advanced line-up...

I still have the old line-up and have the "NO DATA" much more often as well.
I don't think it has anything to do with what channel line-up you have.

I emailed tech support at Shaw and they promptly sent me back a list of possible steps, which involved mostly info about power surges and resetting the unit.

I promptly emailed them back and reiterated that the problem had nothing to do with those issues, and again sent them a link to this very thread, which shows a growing number of subscribers with the same complaint. Sadly, no response.

Wasn't the guide data the problem that has delayed the new code?

It has to work on both the box and the uplink, so maybe this is just collateral damage.

Just how could you change the datastream and load EVERY box overnight?

Apart from dual recording, the extended IPG has also caused issues. It seemed that the 2 guide versions were interfering with each other, but both are running now, and have been for many months.

Glad they got it fixed, but just another example of incompetence in deployment.
Things like this happen because they have no clear direction.
To wishy washy to make a decision, stick with it and move along a path.
No wonder it's taken an extra couple of years to get this far.

Somebody go hire new management and toss the party 8 ball in the trash that passes off as management.
