1) You Can Take It Swimming

The biggest bit of news about the Gear Fit 2 Pro is that it’s water proof. This fitness tracker can be worn up to 50 m down, or 164 feet, and so it’s sure to do the trick for a majority of swimmers and divers.

2) Samsung Has Partnered with Speedo to Make an Accompanying App

To help you make the most of your time exercising in the water, Samsung is said to have partnered with Speedo on a swimming app. It records your in-water stats, and allows you to check them once finished, on your band.

3) It Boasts a New Strap and Latch

The Gear Fit 2 Pro will come with a new fashionable strap similar to that of a sports watch, so you don’t risk losing it at the bottom of the pool. It’s also said to come in red and black, for a sporty look.

4) It Still Has the Same Stuff as Last Year’s Model

Apart from the fact that you’ll be able to take this tracker swimming, you’ll find that it’s very similar to last year’s model from Samsung. It will be the same size, have a screen with the same resolution, come with GPS functions, boast a heart rate sensor, an accelerometer, and a barometer to measure your ups and downs on the stairs and your whereabouts in the woods.

Automatic exercise detection means the device will instinctively know when you’re working out. You can likely count on getting 4GB of storage, 500MB RAM and a 200mAh battery that can last about 3 or 4 days, or up to nine hours if you’re using GPS.

What will it cost? Probably around $200USD.
