4 Things to Know About Apple’s New 2017 iPad

It’s here, it’s fresh and cheaper than ever before. Here’s how the new 2017 iPad is powerful and stylish.

According to Appleinsider.com, the first batch of 2017 iPads that were ordered last Friday have shipped from Apple’s warehouses, and recipients will be getting notification of their arrival as soon as March 30- this coming Thursday.

For those of you who didn’t jump on the bandwagon and are waiting for retail sales in Canada to see what the hype is all about, you can likely get your hands on some product sometime this week. (Check your local stores for updates on arrival dates for the most accurate info.)

So here it is: this new iPad doesn’t come with a foldable screen, propeller wings or the ability to serve you a double-double at your bedside each morning, we are sad to report. (Hey Apple, are you listening?)

It does however, have some notable features that are worthwhile sharing.

Here are 4 of them:

1) It Has a New Name

This time, it’s about simplicity. There is no iPad Frederic or Franz Air 2, as some creative sources may have suggested.

This new tablet from Apple is simply being called the 2017 iPad or the 9.7-inch iPad.

Apple has eliminated the 9.7-inch iPad Air 2 from its lineup. Some may be sad to see it go, but change is the name of the game.

The benefits? The new title is easier to remember, and everyone gets the same treatment.

2) It’s the Cheapest iPad

The 2017 iPad is the cheapest tablet that Apple has on the market. That being said, it will still cost you well over $400 to have one sitting on your coffee table, while you’re busy in the shower.

3) There’s a New Chipset Inside

The 2017 iPad is equipped with more power, when compared with the iPad Air. It features the A9 chipset, replacing the iPad Air’s aging A8X processor.

The A9 chipset is said to be manufactured for Apple by TSMC and Samsung, and was first featured in the iPhone 6S and 6S Plus back in 2015, so many buyers are likely already using it.

According to Apple, the A9 chipset has 70% more CPU performance when compared with the A8, as well as 90% more graphics ability. Start your engines.

4) It Comes in Beautiful Colours

There is no shortage of style when it comes to the 2017 iPad. This device comes in your choice of metallic silver, gold, and ‘space gray’.

For those who like to cover up, an assortment of new smartcovers are also available, to ensure that you’re devices are outfitted exactly as you see fit.
