Shopping? Weather? These best android apps of 2017 have it covered.

You may have already heard about the most downloaded Android apps of 2016. Not surprisingly, the list includes names such as Pokémon Go and Face Changer 2.

And also not surprisingly, while 2017 has only just hatched, lists are already being created with the best apps of this year.

What are they, and what do smartphone users find impossible to live without?

Reviewers have their own taste of what’s hot. Check out this list of 5 of the best Android apps on the market, as reviewed by as AndroidAuthority, PCMag, TechRadar, and Tom’s Guide.

1weather

Android Authority.com is calling this weather app the best one in existence.

Of course, everyone is going to have their personal preferences, but 1Weather is pretty handy. Users can see the current weather as well as the forecast for up to 12 weeks with it, and keep abreast of any coming storms.

With ‘weather’ being one of the most-Googled keywords on the Internet, this app, or one just like it, is a must-have for most. A radar map and other engaging statistics can keep users entertained and informed.

Google Maps

Who goes anywhere these days without Google Maps? Most don’t go beyond the mailbox up the street.

Which may not be totally wise. Google Maps has been known to lead users dangerously astray, but these are hopefully rare and isolated case. Because, for most every-day users, it can be super-useful.

If you don’t already use it, here’s what Google Maps has. Real-time GPS navigation, traffic and transit information, as well as reviews and popular visitation times for local destinations are available to users with Google Maps.

Duolingo

If you’re traveling, or staying at home and looking to learn a new language, look no further than Duolingo. With this learning app, users can advance their Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch, Irish, Danish, Swedish, Russian, Ukrainian, Esperanto, Polish, Turkish or English.

Duolingo hosts lessons and games that increase language abilities. Users can practice speaking, reading, listening and writing skills while having fun playing games and answering questions.

LastPass

LastPass gets the honor of being chosen as an Editor’s Choice from PCMag.com. What is it? It’s a security app that helps you manage your passwords online, keeping them secure.

If you manage your finances online as well as things like business records and health care details, an app like this can be very useful.

With LastPass you can lock your passwords in one virtual place using a master password that LastPass never learns about.

You can also have the app generate new ultra-secure passwords just for you, which can help to keep your accounts safe.
