Primus Expands VoIP Service Across Quebec and Ontario

This week, Primus announced that it has further expanded its VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) footprint across Canada.

It now offers national coverage to another 200,000 residences and businesses within small and mid-sized communities in Ontario and Quebec including Thunder Bay, Orangeville, Haliburton, and Valleyfield.

An industry leader, Primus was the first telecommunications company in Canada to introduce VoIP services. Since its launch in 2004, the technology’s evolution and adoption in Canada has been significant.

“As we expand our footprint into more parts of the country, Primus provides consumers and businesses with a real alternative to the large incumbent telephone companies by providing high quality, innovative services at attractive prices, and this expansion represents another step forward,” says Brad Fisher, General Manager at Primus.voip

“We’ve earned the business of thousands of Canadians over the past decade by delivering a compelling choice and now we’re proud to introduce our services to even more communities.”

This VoIP expansion offers small and medium-sized businesses flexible and affordable VoIP-based options, such as Hosted PBX from Primus, a cloud-based phone system, including features such as Auto Attendant, Call Centre, and Find-Me, Follow-Me.

For residential customers, Primus’ Digital Home Phone service provides low long distance rates, unlimited local calling, unlimited ‘anywhere’ calling to other Primus Digital Home Phone customers, and the ability to manage the service from any location through a customer portal.

All Digital Home Phone subscriptions also include at no additional charge, Telemarketing Guard™, a patented feature that automatically identifies phone calls from frequent telemarketers and provides the home phone customer the choice to block them, send them to voice mail or accept the call.

For the fourth year in a row, Primus has been awarded the Consumer Choice Award (CCA) for Best Digital Phone Service in Hamilton.

In total, the company has earned seven CCA awards for business excellence in Canada.
