Apple Unveils New Updates including Siri on Mac, Siri Search for YouTube, Apple WatchOS3, macOS Sierra, and iOS 10

Today, new Apple updates were announced which will be coming to consumers later this summer and fall. Advancements for Siri capabilities and Apple TV, a new Apple Watch, updates on macOS Sierra, and the unveiling of iOS 10 described by Apple as “the biggest iOS release ever,” were all announced.

Here is an overview of features set to come:

Apple TV and Siri:

-single sign-on for Apple TV-YouTube search: Later this month, users can ask Siri to search YouTube, so

you can say “Search YouTube for cute pug videos.”

appleTV-siri-topic search for movies: ask Siri for a movie by topic or theme, such as “Show movies about baseball,” “Find documentaries about cars,” or “Find high school comedies from the ‘80s.”

-Live tune-in: Ask Siri to go directly to a live channel inside a supported app, such as “Watch CBS News” or “Watch ESPN.”

-Apple TV gives users control of HomeKit-enabled accessories so you can ask Siri to “Turn on the lights” or “Set the temperature to 70 degrees.”

-Apple TV also allows users to control HomeKit accessories when away from home or to use it for home automation with the Home app on their iOS device

 

Apple WatchOS 3

 macOS Sierra

-Siri to debut on a Mac

Siri lets you use your voice to search for information, find files and send messages. For example you can ask Siri to locate a specific document you worked on last night, add a meeting to your calendar or start a FaceTime call.

-automatically have all the files on your desktop and in your documents folder on any Mac, iOS device or even PC. Save your files on your desktop or within your documents folder , and access them on your iPhone and iPad in the iCloud Drive app and on iCloud.com or the iCloud for Windows app.

-When you log into a second Mac, your files are automatically on the Desktop and in the documents folder, exactly where you saved them.

-shop on your Mac with Apple Pay

-look for the Apple Pay button at checkout on shopping sites and complete your purchase with Touch ID on your iPhone or by using your Apple Watch.

-strong encryption protects all communication between your devices and Apple Pay servers, and Apple Pay does not track your purchases.

General-navigation-in-iOS-9-includes a softer aesthetic, an interactive lock screen, and personalised home screen widgets

-includes a revamp of Music, News, Maps and HomeKit, among other features including the Siri updates and Apple Pay abilities detailed above.
