YouTube Space Toronto Opens its Doors to Content Creators, Offering Free Equipment and Studios

YouTube has special spaces around the world in nine cities dedicated to providing video creators with equipment, mentorship and classes, and Toronto just joined the list.

YouTube Space Toronto, the only of its kind in Canada, opens this Wednesday on the campus of the George Brown College School of Design at 230 Richmond Street East.

youtube-toronto-1The Google-sponsored space hosts events that are free but often require creators to have a minimum number of subscribers to attend and to have a certain number of videos uploaded in the past six months.

Some are open to all and any interested.

Creators with more than 10,000 subscribers can book the spaces cameras and studios for free and create to their hearts content.

Not up to 10,000 yet? Creative workshops and classes, designed and taught by YouTube’s own in-house specialists, aim to provide creators with tips on building their channel and audience and ideas for designing business strategies for partnering with other like-minded brands.

Other cities that currently host a YouTube Space include Los Angeles, Tokyo, Mumbai, London, New York, Sao Paulo, Berlin and Paris.
