Apple Introduces New, Smaller iPhone SE

Apple’s smaller, cheaper iPhone is now here. In an effort to reduce the decline in iPhone sales, Apple has released the iPhone SE, which is now available for $549 in Canada.

The smaller smartphone is said to be aimed at new buyers, and may be targeting emerging markets like that found in China.

It comes with a 4-inch screen, an A9 chip-the same as that found in the iPhone 6s- Apple Pay, a 12-megapixel iSight camera featuring Live Photos™, 4K video, and Touch ID.

The phone also brings users built-in apps like Messages, FaceTime®, Photos, Music and Maps. iOS 9 brings more intelligence to iPhone SE with proactive assistance, powerful search, improved Siri® features, and a new Night Shift™ feature that uses the iPhone SE’s clock and geolocation to automatically adjust the colors in the display to the warmer end of the spectrum after dark, for a better night’s sleep.

Promoted as the most powerful phone out there with a 4-inch display, the iPhone SE comes in 4 metallic finishes, including rose gold.

Customers in Canada will be able to order the iPhone SE beginning Thursday, March 24, with availability beginning Thursday, March 31, 2016.
