For those who want an Oculus Ready PC and a Rift in one purchase, bundles will be available for preorder in February starting at $1,499 US.

“More than 100 virtual reality games and other experiences are coming this year,” Facebook Chief Executive Mark Zuckerberg said in a post on the social networking site.

Billed as a ‘new communication platform’, Oculus will focus on virtual reality within the gaming world first, in partnership with Facebook, and then branch out, says Zuckerberg.

“Virtual reality was once the dream of science fiction,” Zuckerberg writes on Facebook’s website. “But the internet was also once a dream, and so were computers and smartphones. The future is coming and we have a chance to build it together. I can’t wait to start working with the whole team at Oculus to bring this future to the world, and to unlock new worlds for all of us.”

Oculus said on Monday that the Rift will come bundled with the games Lucky’s Tale and EVE: Valkyrie.
