Today Samsung Canada and Bell partnered together to launch Galaxy View, a smartscreen that enables portable TV and video entertainment anywhere in the home. As Samsung says it’s “designed to turn every room into a TV room”.

Samsung Galaxy ViewThe Galaxy View comes with an 18.4 inch Full HD touchscreen display, and a video-optimized user interface.

In Canada, it comes optimized for Bell customers with the Fibe TV app integrated directly into the device’s homescreen. Viewers can use the app to watch live-broadcast or on-demand content while continuing to watch the program on their TV set with the tap of a button.

What are the benefits of the Fibe TV app? It delivers 300+ live channels at home, more than 170 live channels on-the-go, and over 13,000 hours of on-demand programming, and also doubles as a remote control for the Galaxy View screen, allowing customers to manage recordings and access the Fibe TV programming guide to select content.

Other features included with the Galaxy View are integrated Rotten Tomatoes ratings, a range of search filters, a favourite channel setting, and device and content management tools.

fibeThe Galaxy View also features a 2.1 megapixel camera for large-as-life video chat, as well as a 1.6 GHz octa-core processor with 2GB DRAM and 32GB memory, and a microSD expandable memory up to 128GB, to quickly access and store a library of digital content.
