Rogers Hits the Ice for 2015-16 NHL Season With Updated Usability Features and New Monthly Pass

Hockey fan? The NHL season is officially in full swing.

Earlier this month, Rogers announced that, this season, Rogers NHL GameCentre LIVE will continue to provide viewers with access to all scheduled hockey games, with a few added updates that could make the viewing experience more seamless and easier to access.

The media and telecommunications company says they will be delivering more than 1,000 regular season games to the screen in the 2015-2016 season, plus the 2016 Stanley Cup® Playoffs and 2016 Stanley Cup® Final, the 2016 Bridgestone NHL Winter Classic, and the 2016 NHL All-Star Game.

What’s been updated? Some interface and usability features have changed since last year, plus some packaging.

In terms of the interface, there is now Google Chromecast support within the iOS and Android Smartphone and tablet apps, that allows fans to stream live games from their mobile devices to their television sets.

Desktop casting continues to be provided through the Google Chrome browser.

A new ‘Schedule’ section on the Rogers NHL GameCentre LIVE™ website allows subscribers to navigate and launch games directly from the site through a simplified interface.

A ‘Video’ section in the tablet version gives fans access to additional behind-the-scenes content including highlights, scores and replays, for a wider viewing experience.

And overall, Rogers states that improved video player and stream quality gives fans uninterrupted and faster access to games, this season.

As for pricing and packages, a new monthly pass has been added to the roster this season, which is a recurring $29.99 (plus tax) monthly subscription.
